The Iwase area is a port town that anchored Kitamae-bune, which played an active part in the Sea of Japan from the Edo to the Meiji period.
Today, the warehouses from the eras have been restored, and turned into a liquor store, French restaurant, glass atelier, and a ceramic art studio.
The town today blends the elements from the past and presents well.
The fish that grew up in the beautiful Toyama bay and the sake that is brewed in mid-winter goes perfectly well together.
