Tour the kinkotsu alleys in Kanayama-juku on the Hida-kaido Road

Once a bustling post town, Gero Kanayama is webbed with alleys called "kinkotsu",where you will find many shops serving delicious food, along with interesting buildings. Furthermore, the final destination of this program is a sake brewery dating back 300 or so years, where you will tour the brewery and taste some sake. Enjoy the off-the-beaten-track walk together with a talkative tour guide.

Kinkotsu is a term in the Hida region's local dialect meaning alley or footpath.

Please be considerate of the locals and enjoy interacting with them as these alleys are still used as community roads by the locals.

You would never be able to experience such an off-the-beaten-track experience without a guide.
