TAKAYAMA SAKE TASTING

“Knowing sake means knowing Hida.” This activity provides an introduction to the sake of the Hida region in English to international visitors. Participants get to taste six different types of sake. Then, detailed explanations are provided about the types of sake and which Hida sake matches which local dish; how sake is made; and the relation of sake to Japanese culture, all in English. Duration is about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

  • "17:00 Participants get together at the Jinya, then make their way to Kanoya restaurant"
  • Introduction to the culture and history of sake is given
  • Participants will enjoy the combination of Hida's local sake and specialties
