An intoxicating space that reaches beyond time

Founded in 1862, Wakatsuru Sake Brewery has been brewing sake with pure, clear well water drawn from the Shogawa Valley. In the atmosphere of the brewery premises, which have been ranked in Toyama Prefecture’s Top 100 Modern History Sites, you will feel the lingering spirit of each of the many people who have diligently tended the brews since. These days, the brewery conducts tours, which include sake-tasting, and even hosts concerts. Besides sake, it also sells glasses and snacks, both developed together with local makers. Wakatsuru also runs Taisho-gura, the only whiskey distillery in the Hokuriku region. The facility is also popular with overseas visitors.
