Ena, a vibrant castle town

The city of Ena is about 60 km from downtown Nagoya, in the southeastern part of Gifu Prefecture. It is close to the prefectures of Aichi and Nagano, and offers the lush natural beauty of mountains and rivers. Flanked by Mt. Ena to the east, Mt. Yakiyama to the south, and Mt. Kasagi to the north, and nurtured by the Kiso, Agi, and Yahagi rivers, the region showcases the beauty of the four seasons. The Kiso River’s Ooi Dam and the surrounding Ena Gorge region were designated a prefectural nature park in 1924.
The Iwamura Brewery, the only brewery in the city, preserves a 200-year-old tradition.
