Nabari's local sake nurtured by Nabari's pure natural environment
Nabari is a city surrounded by mountains rich in nature, located in Iga basin in the west of Mie Prefecture at the prefectural border with Nara. Nabari is blessed with a climate of large temperature differences and clear water selected as one of the 100 Exquisite and Well-Conserved Waters of the Heisei period and the place is also a production area of quality Iga rice. Sake has been actively produced thanks to such a wonderful climate and Nabari's sake has developed as a culture, and a traditional industry that is deeply connected with the lives and social activities of local people. In December 2015, the city issued the first toast ordinance in the prefecture to promote toasts with Iga Nabari's sake and brand sake. Nabari is working to spread the practice of toasting with Nabari sake, promoting the development of city's economy and local culture.
The Meishu de Kanpai Council established by volunteer citizens have decided that the first day of every month will be Brand Sake Toast Day, and hold sake-related events. Why not come to Nabari, and experience the region's culture along with tasty Nabari's sake?
